Analytics

Many Businesses have websites that they rely on to either directly sell their products/services (such as those selling Heating or Air Conditioning Equipment, Components or Spare Parts to installers) or indirectly via a more Common Brochure type to gain Interest in their newly developed product or service.

Whatever type you have you need to know this. How long are visitors staying on your site? – You have 2 seconds only to get your visitors attention and then keep then on your website. Therefore are you looking at your Marketing ROI – Is your website paying its way? Is it getting you the Sales or Enquiries that you need? Taking it to a more direct level do you know how many people have/are visiting your website, are they coming from your Social Media activity, a Blog Post you have written or an email campaign?

The fact is most website/Business owners wouldn’t have a clue! So you have to ask why bother having a website at all if you can’t answer those questions. Surely if you could improve on any of those factors then your website pages will get higher ranked and you will get more traffic and therefore (assuming your SEO has been set-up correctly) you will convert more of those visitors into paying customers.

Analyse Your Website and Improve Conversions

To start with you need to get Google Analytics. It’s free, and is really uncomplicated, really easy to set-up and analyse what your web visitors are doing. Now I’m not going to show you how to do that. I’ll let this lady show you on her YouTube Video.

To use this tool You will need to have a Google account. If you don’t have a Google account you will need to set one up. Just go to Google.com and create a new account and follow the instructions.

Once you have the Analytics installed you will be able to see exactly what parts of your website are under performing and what changes you need to make to improve the ranking and conversions. Now I know for many Business owners this could be a step too far, so we can happily set up the tracking and reporting for you and then make the necessary changes for you, so will quickly start to benefit from improved rankings.

How to Improve your Google Rankings

We have written a separate post on this subject as it’s a completely different area, but once you have implemented everything thats suggested, then results can be seen quickly in your analytics account.
